Updated SDK available for AmigaOS 4.0 Developer Pre-Release

Leuven, Belgium - 05. August, 2005

Hyperion Entertainment is proud to announce the availability of the Software Development Kit Version 51.15 for the AmigaOS 4.0 Developer Pre-Release. The new SDK comes at almost 100 MB compressed - 5 MB for each year in Amiga's history!

The new SDK features

  • GNU C/C++ compiler, including the GDB source-level debugger
  • Includes and Autodocs for Pre-Release Update 3.
  • The latest VBCC ANSI-C compiler
  • Developer Documentation and example source code
  • A whole bundle of pre-configured third-party libraries as contributed software
  • code profiling support for both clib2 and newlib (see gprof)
  • new -mcrt option for selecting your favourite C library flavour
  • based on latest GCC 3.4.4 tool set
  • fixed GNU make with Un*x path support
  • latest clib2 improvements (e.g. thread safe, library call safe)
  • modern C++ support so you can compile anything in C++ including libs like Boost and Loki

The SDK download is available for registered users of AmigaOS 4.0 Developer Pre-Release here.

In addition to the full 100 MB download, a stripped-down, "nocontrib" version is also available, including a split-up version for modem users.

Update: Due to a last-minute change in the SDK, there is a small error in one of the files that are installed. Users that have downloaded the SDK before Sunday, August 7th are adviced to download the fix for this problem. The fix is available in the same location as the SDK itself.
